Dennis first started working with BlinkerLite in 1992 when he worked on his first big event Nashville SummerLights. BlinkerLite got the bid and they have not quit working together since. The job entailed closing 6 city blocks and 120 portable toilet units.

He has built a successful business by having great relationships with other professionals.

Dennis Freeman is a professional. He is kind, generous with his time and good at what he does. He has over twenty years of experience in the business of concerts and special events. You will quickly realize his level of expertise with events such as the most recent U2 concert, CMA Music Fest, Summer Lights and many, many more. He has also been known to manage a real three ring circus.

His firm Freeman Enterprises is skilled in all realms of special event logistics, production, site management, and stage management. They have been responsible for event budgeting, site layout, negotiations with local government officials, contracting for sound, lighting, staging, as well as fencing, tents, security, trash removal, etc. We have been involved with every aspect of event production and logistics before, during, and after events. We will always work within a budget and still produce a professional, smooth running event.

Dennis’ father was an engineer and he speculates that is why he has such a knack for detail. He smiles when he thinks about each event having over 100 tasks to manage.

 Trackworks was founded in 1978 by Bobby Webb. His company specializes in building and repairing private spur  lines for such companies as Ford Glass Plant and Innopho (formerly Stauffer Chemical). They also repair train derailing.

“I first met Larry Patton with Blinkerlite 20 years ago when we had to shut down 6 lanes of traffic on Murfreesboro Road. It was my biggest job and safety was critical. Blinkerlite was the expert in traffic safety and I wanted the best. The liability was huge on the job and they took care of all the traffic, lane closures and permits. It was a big success.”

“Our philosophy is simple”, says Webb. “We treat others the way we want to be treated.

Just last spring we repaired a railroad track for a client and I saw a pothole in his drive that all the tractor trailers were hitting. I went out and got some mix and solved his problem immediately.”

Webb added, “We have had the majority of the same customers over 20 years. I always do what I tell them I am going to do. Treat them the way I want to be treated. I feel Blinkerlite has the same approach to business. They are on the ball and never failed me yet.

They always want to help you get the job done right. I tell them what I got; how long a lane needs to be open and they take over. They are the experts. Safety is a big liability. I could do some of what they do but I know when and where you need to call in a professional.

Larry is likeable, he has never told me anything he didn’t follow through on. If he says the signs are there I trust him.”

Webb summed up his dedication, “We do the job right the first time. We have FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) inspectors come behind us and inspect every job. We have never had to go back and redo a job. They (FRA) recommend me to customers.

Our most recent job is Centennial Blvd. and we had to shut down ½ the road at a time for Innophos.

Today Trackworks has an average of 5 employees and $500-700,000 in sales.
